At Bank First, our scholarships provide practical, transformative support to the next generation of nurses and allied health professionals. We're proud to offer scholarships that relieve financial strain, support innovation and recognise emerging nurse leaders.
Easing financial burdens
Studying can be tough, especially with tight budgets and balancing work and family. Our scholarships ease financial stress, allowing nurses to focus on their education.
Nurse Tenika resumed her transition from enrolled to registered nurse after previously pausing her studies due to the challenge of finding childcare while on placement. 'I'm so excited with where my future is headed. If it wasn’t for the scholarship, I really don’t know how I'd manage placement.'
Juggling the demands of motherhood, work, and studies, Nurse Nishita's determination is inspiring:
'Being a mum while working and studying full-time isn't easy, but I'm determined to push through. This scholarship means the world to me, especially during these times of high cost of living pressures.'
Driving innovation
In today's digital age, hands-on experience remains invaluable, especially in nursing. Bank First’s Alfred Health scholarships enable nurses and allied health professionals to embark on study tours to observe innovative health programs around the world.
'The UK do advanced work in nursing; we want to lead and implement some of their programs at Alfred Health. I’m so excited to have this opportunity,' said Clinical Nurse Consultant Kellie.
Clinical Nurse Consultant Josephine will visit headache treatment clinics to see a nurse-led model in practice. 'I was thrilled to receive this scholarship. I can now do something that I've dreamed of for a long time.’
Emma, a Clinical Nurse Manager, will travel to the USA to observe the use of virtual reality simulations to train nurses to deliver care outside the hospital:
'If we can simulate environments reflective of real-life, we can equip nurses with the skills and confidence they need.'
