Receiving money from overseas
Receiving money from overseas
You can receive money in a foreign currency into your Bank First account. We will convert the incoming money into Australian dollars (AUD) before it hits your account. It’s simple!
Visit our foreign exchange partner, Convera’s portal and complete the online form. Once completed, send the details from the portal to your overseas payer and we will handle the rest.
Convera is Bank First’s new foreign exchange partner as American Express no longer offer this service in Australia.
Some quick reminders:
It is essential to include 'FFC Bank First (Full Name & Account Number)' in the payment notes.
When sending funds in a foreign currency, please advise the sending Financial Institution that the transfer must remain in the same currency and NOT be converted. This can also be included in the ‘Payment Notes’. Bank First will arrange the conversion to AUD through our partners at Convera.
Convera accounts are currency specific, sending the incorrect currency to an account may result in automatic conversion or double conversion and the exchange rate may be subject to the discretion of the remitting or intermediary bank.1
