As a customer owned mutual bank, we are an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI) and are protected by the same safeguards that apply to all banks and financial institutions, and are regulated by the same authorities.

As a mutual, our customers are also shareholders. Profits are reinvested into the organisation, to strengthen Bank First and return value to Members.

Our Board of Directors share Bank First's philosophy of providing customers with a fair deal and superior service and are elected by customers via ballot.

Each customer holds one share and has one vote and is entitled to stand for election to the Board*. This means all customers have an equal chance to have their say and influence policy.
