Murtoa College
The idea
Murtoa College is turning mathematics into a real-world experience by having students investigate the iconic Murtoa Stick Shed. Students will collect data, apply measurement concepts and design learning resources.
TIP impact
With support from Bank First's Teaching Initiatives Program, students will use a local landmark as a hands-on learning environment, bringing mathematical concepts to life in a meaningful way. The project connects abstract concepts to meaningful local contexts. Success will be measured through improved engagement, learning outcomes and the creation of reusable maths resources.
