Concord School

The idea

Concord School is creating a ‘Tiny Forest’ and outdoor sensory classroom that connects sustainability, wellbeing and student-led learning. Students will be involved in every stage of the process, from planning and design through to planting and maintenance, applying their learning in geography and environmental studies to real-world outcomes.

TIP impact

With support from Bank First's Teaching Initiatives Program, students will help create a lasting green space that supports calm, engagement and connection to nature, while also strengthening cultural connections through involvement in the school's Koori Club. Success will be measured through student participation, the growth of the forest environment and the creation of a dynamic outdoor classroom used across multiple learning areas.
