Sunshine Primary School
Sunshine Primary School’s students love to read, however most of the school’s books are currently from the 80s and 90s. The school will select a range of newer, quality diverse texts so that students see themselves and their lives reflected in the books they choose to read.
Sunshine Primary School will purchase a range of Indigenous and diverse themed texts, so that every child can feel seen and represented. To support all readers, the school will also expand its collection of Premier's Reading Challenge recommended books and other classic stories.
Through this project, every student will have the opportunity to read a book that inspires and reflects their lived experience.
