The rationale behind Morning Maths is to increase student capacity and confidence in mathematics.
As part of the program, volunteers will be trained by our learning leader to deliver specific tasks in three of the big ideas in maths:
1. Counting
2. Place value
3. Number facts
Our team of volunteers will work with students before school three mornings a week on these maths tasks.
Working before school means the students class time isn't interrupted and the stigma that is sometimes associated with receiving additional support is avoided.
It's also a great opportunity to build relationships and engage with our community as well as of course, improving student outcomes in this subject.
