Flexible Learning Option Wonthaggi
Flexible Learning Option Wonthaggi’s program will support students who are disengaged from school. Teachers found that students responded positively to interactive, practical and hand on learning based activities.
The school will purchase a pre-fabricated chicken coup and have students construct the coup, in addition to purchasing a heat lamp for rearing chicks. Students will then be supported to build the chicken coup and hand rear some chickens.
Through this project, students will learn to care for chickens whilst collecting eggs for the school’s cooking program at the same time.
