Somerville Secondary College

The expansion of Somerville Secondary College's new Reading Acceleration Program aims to provide evidence-based literacy intervention. 

By addressing gaps in a student's reading ability, educators can set a student up for ongoing success in their secondary education where they are expected to interact with texts of increasing complexity.

This TIP funding will complete the resourcing of this project, which has received strong support from students, staff and the parent/carer communities. 

We will purchase books and magazines to ensure we can continue to support students at their point of need as they move through the program, ensuring suitable, age-appropriate texts are available in our school library.
